Emotional Brain Study: App for Measuring Emotional Control Ability
Emotional Brain Study is a free lifestyle app developed by Cognitron Team for Android users. The app is designed to help neuroscientists and emotion researchers at the University College London (UCL) understand how much control people have over experiencing emotions, how this relates to their mood, and how this changes over time.
The app provides a platform for users to play fun games and record their mood, which in turn contributes to the scientific study. The app helps users track their mood and emotional control performance pattern to find out whether their mood is changing as a function of their control ability or not. Additionally, the app allows users to measure their emotional control ability and compare it to other players’ ability.
The app is fully anonymized, and no personally relevant information is collected. The anonymous data collected is used only for scientific research. The app is supported by the Wellcome Trust, and running this study in the general population through an app provides researchers with a unique opportunity to understand how these processes operate in everyday life.
